Abstract
The physicist Enrico Boggio Lera, born in Piedmont, moved to Catania toward the end of the nineteenth century and greatly contributed to maintain alive the research in physics, reaching a relevant international fame. He was a superb teacher and served as vice president of the Gioenia Academy of Catania in the years between 1944 and 1954.
