Abstract

In the first three decades of existence of the Gioenia Academy, 89 "foreign" corresponding members were elected, to enrich the new association of scientists, men of letters, ecclesiastics, counts, barons and scholars in many fields. The co-optation of some of them seems surprising. This is the case of the Brothers Grimm universally known as German philologists and fairy tale writers. It seems intriguing to know the path of their election because they were people not included in the local or national intelligentsia. Without direct confirmation, the proponent is assumed to be Baron Wolfgang Sartorius Walterhausen of Göttingen, already corresponding fellow.
