Abstract

A woody vegetation, localized on a steep slope of the North-western side of the Iblei Mounts, is described. It has a particular significance because the woody vegetation is very rare on the Iblean region. The study carried out according to the phytosociological method, allowed to distinguish plant communities belonging to the Quercetea ilicis class. Proposals for an adequate conservation of this rare woody vegetation, within the coming Park of Iblei Mounts, are put forward.
